NEW POLL: 60% of Kansans Approve of Gov. Laura Kelly’s Job Performance

TOPEKA – New polling from Morning Consult found that an overwhelming majority of Kansans – 60 percent – approve of Governor Laura Kelly’s job performance, including Democratic, Republican, and Independent voters. This puts Gov. Kelly among the top ten most popular governors in the country across the political spectrum.

“Over her time in office, Gov. Kelly has brought in record economic development, fully funded public education, and cut costs for working families with actions like axing the food tax. With a record like that, it’s not surprising that a strong majority of Kansans approve of the job she’s doing,” said KDP Chair Jeanna Repass. “Kansas families across the state are benefitting from Gov. Kelly’s strong leadership and focus on the issues that matter most to the Sunflower State.”

Gov. Kelly’s record includes balancing the state budget, keeping public schools fully funded every year she’s been in office, axing the food tax to save Kansans’ hard-earned money, and growing Kansas’ economy by securing historic economic development in the state.

This legislative session, Gov. Kelly signed legislation to improve Kansans’ lives by improving early childhood education, fighting against the opioid epidemic, strengthening protections for sexual assault survivors, increasing government efficiency, and supporting Kansas’ aviation industry.
