“For 60 years, Medicaid and Medicare have been a lifeline for millions of Kansans who rely on these programs for lifesaving health care. These programs are a reflection of our values — that everyone should have access to quality, affordable coverage in their times of need, no matter their age or their income. Donald Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill” takes away essential care from Kansans to give more tax handouts to billionaires. Nearly 93,000 Kansans alone will lose health insurance and six rural hospitals are at risk of closing because of Donald Trump’s budget. “On this 60th anniversary of Medicaid and Medicare, the Kansas Democratic Party will continue to fight against Republicans’ attacks on health care to protect every Kansan.”
