KANSAS DEMOCRATIC PARTY CONDEMNS THE VIOLENCE AND SHOOTINGS IN MINNESOTA

The Kansas Democratic Party has issued a statement condemning the murders and shootings of the State Legislators in Minnesota.

The Kansas Democratic Party unequivocally denounces all forms of violence, and political violence specifically, has no place in a free and open democracy.

The Kansas Democratic Party has sent their condolences to the Minnesota Democratic Party known as the DFL, the Democratic Farm Labor Party in reference to the shooting of Minnesota state Senator John Hoffman and his wife Yvette and the murder of state Representative Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark on Friday in their respective homes.

“I have reached out personally to Richard Carlbom, the new Chair of the Minnesota DFL and to DNC Chair Ken Martin who served as the Chair of the Minnesota DFL for 14 years. I have expressed my personal condolences. I am outraged at the senseless violence and saddened by the loss of life on Friday.” said Kansas Democratic Party Chair Jeanna Repass. “We stand with Minnesota and the families and friends of the victims of this senseless crime of hatred and violence.”
