DAVID HOGG HEADLINES RALLY FOR YOUNG DEMOCRATS IN PITTSBURG KANSAS

Location: Bicknell Family Center for the Arts, 1711 S. Homer St., Pittsburg, Kansas

Admission: Free and open to the public. 

Doors to the venue open at 9:00 am and doors into the auditorium open at 9:30 am.

PITTSBURG, KS - The Kansas Democratic Party and the Kansas Young Democrats will host a rally at Pittsburg State University to inspire young people to engage in the political process and to ensure rural voices are heard in shaping Kansas’ future. This event is sponsored by the Pittsburg State University Campus Democrats.

The rally’s keynote speaker will be David Hogg. Hogg is a nationally recognized activist and survivor of the 2018 Parkland Florida school shooting, and founder of Leaders We Deserve; a national organization committed to electing young, progressive candidates to public office. The organization focuses on supporting leaders under the age of 35 who are committed to challenging entrenched political norms and prioritizing the needs of their communities. Through strategic investments and grassroots organizing.

“As (a young leader) from Florida, I know what it is like to have your state written off and told it doesn’t matter that Democrats cannot win here.” Leaders We Deserve founder David Hogg said. “That’s why I am very excited to be going out to Kansas to speak at Pittsburg State University with the Democrats about the future of this country and what we are doing to fight back.”
