Thank you for your interest in the Kansas Democratic Party Internship Program!

Any current student or recent graduate of a secondary or post-secondary institution is eligible to apply. Students may receive course credit upon successful completion of their duties.

Internships are open to all majors, although strong oral and written communication skills, as well as a basic understanding of political processes, is preferred.

We offer a variety of opportunities throughout our Finance, Political, Communications, and Field divisions. Interns are expected to learn aspects of each division, and may be placed in a specific division that aligns with their skillset and the needs of the KDP.

The KDP will work with the student completing the internship and faculty of the student’s respective institution to develop a suitable schedule to qualify for KDP Internship Program.

Internships are unpaid positions.

KDP Staff will work with prospective candidates to determine a weekly schedule. Interns will work out of the KDP Headquarters in downtown Topeka, and may be offered opportunities to work from home.

Those interested may apply by submitting their resume, cover letter, and a brief writing sample (less than 500 words on any topic. Sample may be a previous piece used for school or work).

If you prefer, you may mail or email your resume, cover letter, and brief writing sample.
