Kansas Democratic Party Unveils Plan for May 2, 2020 Party-Run Presidential Primary and Delegate Selection
2020 nominating process will be the most accessible, transparent, and open in Kansas Democratic Party history.
Topeka, KS –The Kansas Democratic Party announced that the process Kansas Democrats use for allocating delegates in the Democratic presidential nominating process will change from a caucus system to a party-run primary election. Scheduled for May 2, 2020, the party-run primary will ensure greater participation, accessibility, and engagement for caucus goers with early voting, both in-person and by mail, and in-person voting at voting centers.
Primary changes are included in the Kansas Democratic Party’s Draft Delegate Selection Plan for the 2020 Democratic National Convention. Kansans can review the plan during the 30-day public comment period and submit their feedback at KansasDems.org/2020.
