Jon Tester to Keynote Washington Days 2019
Topeka, KS – We’re incredibly excited to announce Sen. Jon Tester of Montana as our Washington Days 2019 keynote speaker!
Fresh off winning his third consecutive term in the U.S. Senate, Sen. Tester is relentless in his fight for the working families of Montana.
“Our recent victories have brought new faces to Congress and state houses across the country that share the concerns of folks in rural areas, and know how to fight for working families every day — and Kansas is helping lead the way,” Sen. Tester said. “I’m looking forward to talking about the bright future of our party, and how we can build on these successes to move this country forward by mobilizing folks young and old to elect leaders who share their values.”
“We’re incredibly excited to have Sen. Tester speak at our banquet this year,” said KDP Executive Director Ethan Corson. “Sen. Tester’s electoral success in Montana is a testament to his persistent dedication to the working families of Montana. His values of hard work and resilience are the values everyday Kansans recognize as the true signs of leadership and character.”
Before Sen. Jon Tester is joined at the banquet by Gov. Laura Kelly, Lt. Gov. Lynn Rogers and Rep. Sharice Davids will speak at the luncheon that afternoon. All events other than the luncheon and banquet are free to attend and will be held at the Ramada Convention Center in Downtown Topeka.
Since William Jennings Bryan spoke at the inaugural convention in 1905, leaders such as Harry Truman, Jimmy Carter, Ted Kennedy, Bill Clinton, John Lewis, Paul Wellstone, Joe Biden, Barack Obama, and Bernie Sanders have rallied Kansas Democrats at the event.
